Be sure to distinguish between service which a nominee provides as a part of his or her normal job responsibilities and service which goes beyond these responsibilities. In general the award is intended to be conferred on individuals other than members of the Vincentians or Daughters of Charity or individuals working in offices whose primary goal is to advance the University’s Vincentian mission.
Since members of the selection committee may not be personally acquainted with the nominee, it is important that nominations be specific and detailed. As appropriate, indicate organizations and/or agencies both inside and beyond the University to which the nominee has made a significant contribution.
