All programs are open to any member of the surrounding community, regardless of religion. Tasks Available for Students Food pantry: Assist with packing and distributing food parcels to people in need. 50-100 people are served per week. Soup kitchen: Assist with preparing and serving food to approximately 30 people, including homeless people, neighborhood residents and others. Tutoring: Tutor neighborhood kids in grades 1-12.Time Requirements Food pantry: Every Friday 2:30-4:30 p.m. Soup kitchen: Every Saturday 9:00-11:00 a.m. Tutoring: Every Saturday 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. *No minimum commitment for food pantry and soup kitchen. Take 678 S to exit #2, Rockaway Blvd. Turn left at Rockaway Blvd. Take a right onto 150th Street, by the Getty gas station. Turn right into the church parking lot; it is right behind the Getty station. (15-20 minute drive) Public Transportation Take the Q31 bus from Utopia Pkwy and 82nd Ave, in the direction of Jamaica LIRR Station/Sutphin Blvd. Get off the bus at Archer Ave and Sutphin Place. Transfer to the Q6 bus going toward JFK Airport-North Cargo. Get off the bus at Sutphin Blvd and Rockaway Blvd. The church is located behind the Getty gas station, on 150th Street.
