Nature and Purpose of Agency
The Greek Cultural Center offers productions in theater, music,
folk dance, shadow Puppet Theater, and workshops for all ages. They
strive to ensure that each member of the Greek American community
has the opportunity to express themselves creatively through their
own inclinations and aptitudes, be educated and informed about
culture, and explore their roots and traditions. Every member of
the Greek American community has the chance to learn through the
arts, reinterpret traditional themes from a contemporary
perspective, and understand the position of their language and
Hellenic identity, while strongly encouraging the exchange of art
and culture with other ethnic groups within the diverse community
of New York. The GCC's activities are continuously enriched and
improved to better reflect the needs of our community, as well as
maintain the educational and social value of art in society.

Tasks Available for Students
Various tasks are available for students to assist with
including:
• Administrative assistance
• Organization of the library
• Computer/graphic design assistance
• Ticketing for events
• Assist during theatrical productions backstage during
performances
Time Requirements
Flexible scheduling and commitment
Monday-Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Evening and weekend opportunities based on event schedule
Student Awareness/Special Instructions
Note: Metered parking in Astoria can be difficult to find. Please
leave ample time to find parking if you are driving to this site.
Enter 26-80 30th Street through the archway and go down the stairs
on the right for the Greek Cultural Center.

walk to 45 Road/Court House Square. Take 7 train towards
Flushing/Main Street. Exit at Queensborough Plaza. Take the N train
towards Astoria-Ditmars Blvd. Exit 30th Ave. Walk to 30th
Street.
Driving Directions
Take the Grand Central Parkway westbound. Take exit 45 towards 31st
street and Merge onto Astoria Blvd. Continue straight onto Hoyt
Avenue. Turn left on 27th St. Turn left on Astoria Blvd. Turn right
onto 30th St. Destination is on the right side.
