Metateaching is a process that fosters analysis of one’s teaching,
recognizing the frame-work in which you operate under certain
conditions (ex. a particular course). William Timpson developed an
instructional map that can serve as a guide to placing learning
ac-tivities in a 3D matrix of product/process, group/individual,
and teacher-directed/student-centered. Using this map in the
context of metateaching can help instructors visualize their
teaching styles and direct productive changes.
