Hunger Awareness Month

To realize, react and remember the one in six men, women and children in America that struggle with food insecurity every day, Campus Ministry, in conjunction with Multicultural Affairs (Queens and Staten Island campuses), Student Wellness and the student groups of Campus Ministry and Campus Activities, among others, present the annual Hunger Awareness Month. There is a lineup of activities that will capture the University’s mission in action.

Throughout the month of November, students will be invited to participate in the Rice for Life Campaign to join millions of compassionate citizens who donate rice daily to those in need. To create your free account today, visit www.freerice.com and join the St. John’s University group.

You can also track your donation and see how much your friends are donating. The individual who donates the most rice from November 1–22 will win one personal training session from the Fitness Center. For more information, contact us at swell@stjohns.edu.

In an effort to combat the alarming statistics and realities that surround hunger and homelessness, this November we encourage the St. John’s community to get involved.

Service will be taking place throughout the month as well. This is our opportunity to make a difference. All students are welcome to join us for these events.
