Hold that Haircut—Plan Ahead for St. Baldrick’s Event at St. John’s University

Check this out......

So if you are thinking about a haircut, why not wait and shave it off for a good cause!!

Join your St. John’s University community as we sport noticeably shorter hairstyles this spring thanks to the annual St. Baldrick’s and CWHL event. Sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry, the day will be filled with energy, enthusiasm and "buzz"—not only from the hair clippers, but in the fight against childhood cancer.

Participants, who shave their heads in solidarity with children suffering from cancer, raise money for childhood cancer research. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The opportunity to cut your hair via Children With Hair Loss (CWHL), is also a another great way to participate.  CWHL is a not-for-profit organization that donates hair (hair 8 inches or longer) for wigs given to children suffering from hair loss related to any medical diagnosis.

To participate….…

•          To register to shave your head, visit the St. John’s page on the St. Baldrick’s website:, St. John's University Queens Campus

•          To register for CWHL, contact Angela Seegel at or   718-990-2680

Help us make this event even bigger and better than years before – Our hope is to raise over $50,000 in 2015, but for this to be a reality…. WE NEED YOU!!

And not only do we “shave and cut” our way to conquering childhood cancer – the day also features raffles, giveaways, grab-a-lunch for $5 and key members of our University participating…Why not be one of them?
