St. John’s University’s Oakdale campus was the
site of the “Lax for Hope” benefit held on October 2. The
tournament put on by the West Girls Varsity Lacrosse teams Youth
and High School divisions, was to raise money for the Breast Cancer
Coalitions of Long Island. The tournament has raised $18, 200 thus
far with daily donations streaming in.
“Lax for Hope” was established with the
mission to obtain resources to help with funding for non-profit
organizations dedicated to helping Long Island women who suffer
with the disease.
