Job Purpose: To teach, coach, and mentor the sport in
which they have been assigned. Assist in the arrival and
departure of the student campers, monitor students during
breakfast, take and or assist in the taking of attendance, and
over-see the well being and safety of the students. Athletic
position is for individuals with athletics experience; soccer,
basketball, track and field, volleyball, and
recreational/teambuilding activities. Experience working with youth
is highly preferred. Camp dates (including training) July 8th
- August 9th
Job Responsibilities:
Morning Duties: (8:30-12:20)
1. Assist in the directing of buses
2. Assist in organizing of campers coming off the buses and
applying appropriate bracelets to each camper
3. Over-seeing campers during breakfast
4. Escorting campers to the athletic fields and organizing
sports in a safe, educational, and fun manor.
5. Escort campers back to lunch facility and to their correct
seating assignment.
Afternoon Duties: (1:00-4:00)
1. Meet with assigned afternoon campers in the dining
facility
2. Escorting campers to the athletic fields and organizing
sports in a safe, educational, and fun manor.
3. Escort campers to bus pick up location to end the day
4. Assisting students in returning jerseys and locating their
NYCHA housing site.
Equipment Used:
• Assorted athletic equipment, pencil, paper, clip board
Qualifications:
• Experience working with students and athletics
• Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
• The ability to handle confidential matters and to be
professional
• Ability to work well with others
• Willingness to tackle new projects
• Ability to work all CampUs dates
Unusual Physical Demands:
• Athletics will be held outside weather permitting
