Position title: Global Student Services Graduate Student Worker

Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop a communication plan to assist students preparing to study abroad
• Create and distribute a weekly newsletter sent to students preparing to study abroad
• Manage the social media efforts of the Office of Global Studies including Facebook, Twitter and the OGS Photo Blogger program
• Research country and culture specific content to utilize in all communication efforts
• Assist with the development and execution of programming efforts including, but not limited to, pre-departure events, returning study abroad student events, and exchange student events
• Assist with the update and revision of website content
• Assist with the management and organizations of visa applications and appointments
• Participate in weekly meetings
Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a graduate degree program at St. John’s University Fall 2013
• Study abroad or international travel experience
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong writing and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for all things global!
• Experience working with students
• Understanding of social media

Hours per week: 20
