Job Summary:  Housekeeping Conference Assistants provide support service to the Office of Conference Services as part of a team of Student Conference Assistants during daily work shift in executing the duties and responsibilities in the area of Housekeeping operations in support of summer conferences.

Conference Services Supervisor:  Event Manager

Responsibilities
o Attend required weekly training sessions during the spring semester (April-May)
o As part of a team of student workers, provides support to conference groups in their use of residence rooms and common spaces in the Residence Halls
o Assist Facilities Services with the preparation of rooms during initial building turnover from/to Residence Life
o Work with Facilities in removal of trash from Trash Rooms in Residence Halls
o Assist Facilities Services with the preparation of resident rooms to ensure all furniture and inventory of blankets, pillows, soap, toilet paper, cups, hangers, and linens are provided accordingly
o Conduct inspections of residence rooms. Provide re-sets of residence rooms to ensure furniture and supplies meet the default quantities. Inspect associated A/V & IT equipment to ensure it is operational
o As part of a team of student workers, provides custodial support in the Residence Village
o Responsible for the preparation of linen packets and inventory of fresh linen deliveries /used linen pickup
o Keep inventory of pillows and blankets at all times
o Provide exceptional, courteous and knowledgeable customer service to ensure successful outcomes for guests

Qualifications:
o Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends a plus
o Flexibility to handle responsibilities assigned to meet the needs of clients and the department
o Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
o Ability to move bins weighing in excess of 100 pounds with the assistance of a team
o Ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
o Ability to work well with a team of peers
o Ability to multi task
o Ability to express oneself clearly and in a professional manner

 

Student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year. The Office of Conference Services cannot guarantee full-time hours for all shifts during the summer months (May - August).  Employee’s summer hours may range between 20 hours and 35 hours per week.
