Job Description
The secretary will provide secretarial support to the Director of the Ronald H. Brown   Center for Civil Rights and Economic Development and the Director of a new center and the Associate Dean for Faculty Scholarship at the School of Law.

Responsibilities

  • Open and disseminate mail, respond to invitations and advertisements.
  • Type letters and memos.
  • Prepare mail merges, coordinate mailings.
  • Prepare travel and expense vouchers.
  • Prepare agendas for meetings.
  • Reserve space for meetings and order refreshments.
  • Transcribe dictation.
  • Organize and maintain files.
  • Manage calendars.
  • Update databases.
  • Set up conference calls.
  • Arrange for transportation.
  • Assist in the publication of monthly faculty newsletter.
  • Prepare grant proposals.
  • Schedule interviews with faculty and legal employers for students.
  • Post articles to SSRN and NPR, update pages and profiles on the Web.
  • Projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years working experience in a professional environment plus five years working in a secretarial capacity.
  • Excellent computer and typing skills; Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Knowledge of office machines (i.e; fax, copier, etc.)
  • Superb listening, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Superior verbal and written skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Strong organizational & planning skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a sense of creativity.
  • Ability to manage processes and projects.
  • Ability to work well with others at various levels.
  • Flexibility required.

Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and contingent upon the departmental budget.
