Job Description
The Director of Recruitment is responsible for creating and
implementing a targeted recruitment campaign via print and
electronic materials. Responsible for meeting aggressive
recruitment goals, reviewing and overseeing the study abroad
admissions process, and creating a strategic plan for increasing
visiting student enrollment through University-wide
partnerships. This position reports to the Executive Director
of Global Studies.
Responsibilities
- Propose, create and implement short- and long-term internal
& external recruitment plan, with an eye toward dramatic
increase in numbers.
- Propose, implement, and manage partnerships and agreements
pertaining to external student enrollment in St. John's abroad
programs.
- Create and implement business and marketing plan for renting of
surplus housing & classroom space abroad, seeking out new
markets.
- Create and implement business and marketing plan for high
school student outreach, in conjunction with STJ High School
Extension program.
- Oversee marketing campaign, including brochures, ads, and
electronic media for both internal and external audiences. Ensure
that messages and tone are consistent with University mission.
- Increase office's presence at NAFSA and other organizations
through both advertising and presentations.
- Oversee admissions process, ensuring that all applications and
follow up processes are well-managed, efficient, and reported
properly to the University community.
- Ensure that University's vision for Global is met and
articulated, including core focus on service learning.
- Produce and distribute weekly admissions reports and long-term
projections.
- Oversee reporting of program numbers to IIE for Open Doors
survey.
- Ensure that all third-party (studyabroad.com, etc.) websites
have up-to-date information on all programs.
- Supervise Assistant Director of Recruitment & Global
Studies Assistant.
- Position requires travel.
- Position is part of a 24/7 emergency on-call rotation.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in
progressively demanding jobs in admissions and/or international
education, preferably in a University setting.
- Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Requires Recruitment Travel.
- Experience managing in an admissions environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Very strong computerand data manipulation abilities.
- Interest in working in an idea-driven, fast-paced
environment.
- Must have experience creating marketing campaigns aimed at a
student population and be able to create complex reports in
Excel.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
Access and Powerpoint.).
Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and
contingent upon the departmental budget.
