Job Summary
Support the maintenance and administration of existing
compensation programs and practices, as well as provide guidance
and coaching to managers. This support includes evaluating
jobs, conducting market and internal equity analyses, inputting and
analyzing survey data and conducting market surveys via telephone
or email.
Responsibilities
- Conducts research, analyzes data, prepares and presents
recommendations requiring a broad understanding of compensation
techniques, methods, practices and regulations.
- Applies job evaluation techniques to establish equitable and
appropriate titles, salary ranges, pay rates, and FLSA exemption
assignments.
- Maintains positive working relationships with managers and HR
professionals, advising them on individual salary treatment; is
proactive in establishing relationships and identifying targeted
areas where compensation might be a remedy for broader
organizational issues
- Participates in the design, implementation and administration
of compensation programs, policies and guidelines for employees,
including merit, incentive, retention and other types of programs
as needed.
- Conducts market pay analyses for varied positions using
published compensation surveys and consults with managers regarding
the results
- Participates in various salary surveys and oversee completion
of surveys.
- Delivers compensation presentations/training that requires in
depth knowledge and the ability to respond to challenging issues
and questions that arise.
- Provides back-up support for compensation cycles (e.g., merit,
executive compensation).
- Participates in special projects related to compensation
programs and policies.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years experience within Human Resources, preferably in the
area of Compensation
- College Degree required
- Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills, including the
ability to solve problems and draw conclusions from raw data that
result in the discovery of trends and insightful patterns of
information to apply with solutions.
- Knowledge of Banner Reporting
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite particularly
Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint with the ability to
create and utilize complex spreadsheets
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well and
influence all levels of the organization
- Strong writing skills with the ability to develop succinct,
executive summaries
- Ability to manage a project through to completion, delivering
timely results and meeting deadlines
- Excellent demonstrated stand up training and presentation
skills with a confident presence to respond to challenging
issues
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple assignments and
accountabilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to
detail.
- Ability to operate with discretion and maintain confidential
information.
Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and
contingent upon the departmental budget.
