Job Description
The Project Manager functions as an active team member of the
Design & Construction department, managing construction
projects from conception to completion.
Project Management
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans including costs, timeline, milestones,
etc.
- Manage smaller renovation and construction projects
simultaneously.
- Travel to sites across multiple locations/campuses.
- Develop/maintain good working relationships with contractors,
vendors and third party suppliers, and communicate
effectively.
- Maintain strong client orientation to ensure excellent/very
good levels of client satisfaction are maintained.
- Participate as a member of a team to leverage resources
efficiently and effectively.
- Deliver projects on-time, within budget and to specified
standards.
- Compile data for management reports including costs, schedules,
risks and mitigants.
- Coordinate the competitive bidding and procurement process for
assigned projects.
Technical Responsibilities
- Analyze space requests and make recommendations for effective
usage.
- Ensure codes and standards for any/all projects are met.
- Understand/interpret space planning and architectural concepts
and drawings and provide insights to clients.
Qualifications
- BA/BS required.
- Five to Seven years experience required.
- Solid project management skills.
- Ability to work with mid-level administrators and academic
staff.
- Effective customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, smaller in size and
scope.
- Problem identification and resolution skills.
- Ability to utilize project planning software.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience required
- Working knowledge of building codes and infrastructure
standards.
- Able to develop capital budgets and analyze costs.
- Experience working in environment with multiple locations.
- Engineering/Architectural or construction background
required.
Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and
contingent upon the departmental budget.
