Job Description
St. John’s University is pleased to announce a newly created position of Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.  The Associate Director will focus on Foundations specific to the St. John’s University’s mission including some of the University’s new endeavors such as Bread and life, Vincentian Institute for Social Action, and Discover the World.  The Associate Director will lead the effort to successfully secure Foundation gifts supporting these and other projects and will play a key role in developing and managing the Foundation Advisory Board.

Responsibilities

  • Research foundations whose missions align with that of St. John’s University and its specific projects of Bread and Life, Vincentian Institute for Social Action, and Discover the World.
  • Cultivate identified foundations.
  • Work creatively, collaboratively and effectively with faculty, staff and others to develop targeted proposals to identified foundations.
  • Responsible for all aspects of grant proposal submissions including writing, budgeting and reporting.
  • Follow up with foundations as needed including resubmissions and stewardship.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Assist Director of Corporate Foundation Relations with establishment and maintenance of Foundation Advisory Board.
  • Develop and implement yearly unit plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the foundations area.
  • Proven track record of successful grant submissions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with both internal and external constituencies.
  • Excellent written skills specifically with grants and proposals.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.
  • Ability to multitask in a face paced environment under tight deadlines.

Salary
Salary commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and contingent upon the departmental budget.
