Tenure Track Faculty Position

St. John’s University, New York, is seeking an outstanding candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in Educational Administration (open rank). St. John’s University is one of the largest Catholic universities in the United States, and uniquely located in the most culturally diverse region of the country. The beautiful main campus is just minutes away from the heart of New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching masters and doctoral courses in both in-class and distance learning formats.
  • Mentoring doctoral dissertations and advising graduate students.
  • Maintaining an active agenda of research and scholarship.
  • Applying for external funding for research and program enhancement.
  • Maintaining liaisons with regional school systems for collaborative programs and research activities.
  • Participating in service within the university, school, department, and community. 

Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in Educational Administration or closely related field.
  • At least three years administrative experience in K-12 schools, preferably in urban areas.
  • An emerging or strong record of research and scholarly publication in current areas such as urban education and diversity, state and national policy, social justice, educational finance, or school leadership.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching at the University level.
  • A record of seeking external funding and mentoring doctoral students.
  • Expertise in statistical research methodology and/or qualitative research methodology.
  • This position is subject to a comprehensive background screen, with employment contingent upon satisfactory results.
  • If access to a University vehicle is required for the position, a DMV check for driving record and valid driver’s license is also required.
