The Department/Division of Human Services and Counseling is
seeking applications for a tenure-track position for
Reading/Literacy educator.
Responsibilities include teaching doctoral and graduate courses
in research, theory, and practice of literacy instruction
particularly for at-risk and special needs learners. The
position requires the candidate to be experienced in conducting
research, mentoring doctoral candidates and conducting doctoral
seminars. In addition, the candidate will also be required to
teach graduate classes. Non-instructional duties include
student advisement, scholarship activity, university service,
participation in Academic Service Learning projects, committee
participation and on-going program evaluations and reviews.
Qualifications
- The position requires an earned doctorate in reading and/or
literacy-related field with background and experience in conducting
research and teaching reading/literacyin school settings. A record
of publications, presentations at scholarly meetings and
professional organizations in Literacy, grant writing, teaching
online/hybrid courses, and mentoring doctoral candidates is
preferred.
- This position is subject to a comprehensive background screen,
with employment contingent upon satisfactory results. If access to
a University vehicle is required for the position, a DMV check for
driving record and valid driver’s license is also required.
