Employee Resources Following Hurricane Sandy

The Office of Human Resources will provide continued support to employees in light of the challenges being experienced in our areas and by members of our University community in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Employees who have experienced significant hardship or loss as a result of the storm are encouraged to call the Human Resources hotline on (718) 990-1400. Our office will do our best to assist you or to provide referrals for workable solutions that might help you through this difficult time.

The Employee Assistance Program also provides 24-hour support, counseling and referral services for employees and their families to assist with storm related issues and work-life solutions. Counselors can be reached at (888) 777-0052. For work-life resources and the EAP website, click here: Work/Life Programs and EAP

To facilitate ride sharing, the University administration has established a social networking capability for employees to communicate with others in their area to carpool to work.  For additional information, click here: Employee STJ Ride Share

Please know that all full-time and part-time employees will be paid their normal work hours for the time the University was closed. You can review the University’s policy 1028 on  Emergency School Closing, which also covers time-off.

Please feel free to call anyone within the Human Resources department if you have questions or if we can help you navigate through these challenging times.
