Where do I find a list of open student
worker positions?
Student worker may be found in the Recruitment section of the
Human Resources Web site.
How often are the positions
updated?
Most Student Worker opportunities become available at the beginning
of each semester. It is wise to check the open positions frequently
and apply early for the best chance of securing a position.
Positions are added and removed as they are received and filled.
There is not a specific day or time when the site is refreshed.
How do I apply for a posted student worker
position?
There are several steps you should complete:
- Visit the Web site to determine if there are any positions that
you have interest in.
- Download and complete a student worker application which is
available on the “Student Employment” page.
- Send completed application to Mary Cascio, Student
Recruitment Coordinator, located on the Queens campus in the CCK
Hall building
- You may be contacted for an interview with the hiring
department if a suitable position becomes available. An
interview does not guarantee that you will be offered a
position.
- Learn about the position by asking questions related to the
schedule (days and hours), who it supports (who is the customer),
the type of work and if any specific skills are preferred. Treat
this as a real interview – because it is!
A “Guide to Student Employment” brochure is also available by
contacting the Student Employment Coordinator at (718) 990-2331.
This document will be available on line shortly.
What type of prior experience do I
