Rev. Robert Lauder, St. John’s University
Professor of Philosophy, will be featured in a History Channel program titled
The Godfather
Legacy. The special will air Tuesday, July 24
from 9-11 p.m.
The Godfather Legacy explores how the Corleone crime family
inspired a film that not only broke box office records but
infiltrated the American conscience. Historians, scholars,
and law enforcement agents will be featured to discuss how the
characters of this enduring film have resonated with Americans and
impacted popular culture even 30 years later. Fr. Lauder’s
contributions include commentary about the role religion plays
historically in Italian families. The program will be narrated by
Michael Imperoli from The Sopranos and will feature interviews with
Al Pacino, James Caan, Joe Mantegna, Talia Shire, and other members
of the cast.
