DEA National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

The Queens Campus at St. John’s University will once again
participate as a collection site for the fifth Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take
-Back Day event, on Saturday, September 29th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
in front of Public Safety (ROTC building), Goethals Avenue.
Unused or expired medications are a public safety issue, leading to
accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse. DEA agents will be on
hand to collect and transport any unused, expired or unwanted
prescription and over-the-counter medications for safe destruction.
Medications with needles and syringes or other sharps cannot be
collected at this time.
Pharmacy students and faculty from the College of Pharmacy and
Health Sciences will also be on site to provide information and
educational resources to the public on safe disposal of medications
and sharps and to answer drug information questions. For more
