As part of African Heritage Month 2004 - "50 Years Desegregated: How Far Have We Come?", Student Life presents

Capoeira Showcase

A unique blend of martial arts, music, and dance, Capoeira developed in 18th Century Brazil as escaping Africans banded together with the indigenous peoples of South America to ward off white colonists. Sponsored by the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., this program will include an informative lecture pertaining to the history of Capoeira and an exciting exhibition.
