According to the U.S. Department of State, over 17,000 women and children are smuggled every year into the Unites States alone. Filmmaker Yan Vizinberg examines this tragic issue through his latest fictional film, Cargo, which is set to premiere in NYC theaters this Friday, October 21.

Luckily, STJ students will have the opportunity to see the movie first before the majority of the public. Following the movie there will be a Q&A session and students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have, as well as discuss their feelings/opinions on what they had just watched. The movie synposis is as follows:

A young Russian woman, smuggled into America by human traffickers, and a notorious Egyptian transporter, hired to drive her from the Mexican border to New York City, form an unlikely bond that transforms them and threatens to derail the traffickers' plans.
