New initiatives for organic soils managament pursued by the Office
of Sustainability include building an O2
Compost System to compost pre-consumer food waste, and brewing
our own Compost
Tea.
Sustainability
coordinators took soil samples from different parts of the
Queens campus to assess soil conditions before
the application of compost
tea. The soil will be tested again to re-evaluate the health of
the soil.
