EPA Food Recovery Challenge, Campus Tour, and Movie Night October 24, 2012

In October the NYSAR3 (New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse, & Recycling) and St. John's University hosted an event where the EPA Food Recovery Challenge was discussed. A tour was also given of the St. John's O2 Composting Facility. Among those who attended this event was Rachel Chaput from the Sustainable Materials Management Program at EPA Region 2. She described EPA's WasteWise Program and its potential financial benefits of reducing food waste. This free program allows participants to redirect waste from landfills and incineration.
