Human dignity, service and the fight for justice — Catholic Social Teaching helps you to make a difference by putting your faith into action. Through our Catholic Scholars Program, you’ll receive $2,000 to $4,000 a year in renewable scholarship aid as you work with Campus Ministry to make Catholic Social Teaching a vibrant part of your education.

St. Vincent de Paul, the founder of the Vincentian community that sponsors St. John’s University, was an agent of social change and service to the poor in 17th-century France. As a Vincentian Fellow, you will explore his legacy of leading systemic change, using business to serve the poor and bringing together the rich and poor to truly make a difference in the world. Through our Vincentian Fellows program, you’ll receive $2,000 to $4,000 a year in renewable scholarship aid.

TO APPLY:

  • Deadline Extended: Submit application by August 12, 2010
  • Provide 200-word essay describing how you embody the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, and plan to pursue activities that exemplify St. John’s Vincentian tradition of service.
  • Vincentian Fellows will participate in Student Life or Campus Ministry programs and complete 20 hours of community service each semester.

St. John’s graduates excel in the skills and values required for leadership and service in a rapidly evolving global community. As a Global Leader, you will address issues of international poverty and social justice through a series of service projects around the world. Through our Global Leaders program, you will receive a $2,500 grant in addition to a scholarship covering all travel and excursion expenses for our Freshman Passport Program and January travel trips during your junior and senior year.
