Will I be at a disadvantage if I do not
have an undergraduate degree in political science?
St. John’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences wants to admit a
class that represents various backgrounds and experiences, as we
believe that such diversity helps to enhance the learning
experience of all of our students. We therefore encourage
applications from students of all undergraduate majors. In order to
be sufficiently prepared for their advanced level government and
politics courses, these students may be required to complete
several Core courses, in order to develop a solid knowledge base in
the functional areas of political science to which they may not
have been previously exposed.
I am still an undergraduate student in my
last year of study. Am I eligible to apply?
If you are an undergraduate student in your last year of study, you
may apply to the M.A. program in Government & Politics.
You must provide a transcript of all coursework to date, and all
applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. If you
are accepted, you must receive your undergraduate degree prior to
enrolling at the St. John’s College of Liberal Arts &
Sciences. Your offer of acceptance will be contingent upon
receipt of your final transcript indicating that you have completed
all of your undergraduate degree requirements and that your degree
has been formally conferred by your undergraduate institution.
What is the tuition rate for the MA

the MA?

the program. The majority of our full-time students complete
the degree in 12 months, and our part-time students in 24
months.
How do I apply for a scholarship /
assistantship?

Assistantship Application included in the St. John's application.
Candidates for scholarships / assistantships must be applicants for
full-time graduate study at St. John's. The student may not work a
