Qualifications to Run for a Student Government, Inc. Position

Executive Board:
A candidate for an Executive Board Position must possess the following qualifications at the time of elections before being eligible to run for such position:

  • The student must be in the junior class or senior class year, or must have completedat least four courses more than the minimum required to be in the sophomore class year. However, a student that is in the senior class year must be able to demonstrate that such student shall attend classes at the Staten Island Campus of St. John's University during the Fall Semester and the Spring Semester following such election;
  • The student must have served as a class representative during parts of any two semesters.
  • The student must have a cumulative index or GPA of 2.5 or higher in the college such student is attending.

General Board:

A candidate for a General Board Position must possess the following qualifications at the time of elections before being eligible to run for such position:

  • The student must have a cumulative index or GPA of 2.5 or higher in the college such student is attending.
  • The student must be enrolled in and attending class at the Staten Island Campus of St. John's University
  • The student must be in the class year named in the title of the Class Representative position for which such student is nominated and if nominated for any secretary positions, such student also must be enrolled in and attending the college named in the title of the Class Representative position for which such student is nominated.

  • Click on the box next to the candidates name to make your choice.

  • You can vote for all positions contested or vote for only one position, but each position you vote for can only have one selection for the vote to count.

  • To record your votes, click on the green "Vote" button at the end of the process.

  • To view/print a Confirmation receipt of your ballot, click on "View Receipt for Student Government Executive/ General Board Elections 2007 Ballot."
  • You may sign out at any time by clicking the "Sign Out" tab. Once you click the green "Vote" button, you cannot sign back in.
