We all come together thought the strong bonds of sisterhood identify the importance of being involved in serving our community encourage our members to be leaders and strive for academic success take responsibility for our actions and understand the impact they have on the Greek community understand inappropriate behavior that does not reflect our values and traditions. This starts with better understanding of ourselves as individuals so we are better prepared to fully commit to our organizations and what they are about.
Activities
The Sisters plan a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy. These events include all active sisters and alumnae. The activities are directed toward love and commitment, active school spirit, and Christian ideals among its members.
Formal: Each year Lambda Chi holds a summer formal. The event begins by an introduction of the Executive board. Then a presentation of various awards and speeches takes place. The rest of the night is filled with dancing and fun.
Holiday Events: Lambda Chi has two holiday parties for Halloween and Christmas. The night of October 31st the sisters enjoy dressing up in costumes. Lambda Chi gets into the Holiday spirit with our annual Christmas party. This is also a chance for some sisters who do not live nearby to spend time together before the long winter break. That year's Executive Board is announced prior to the new Executive Board for the next year to come. Gifts are exchanged during the night.
Alumnae Dinner: The Alumnae dinner is an opportunity for the past sisters to catch up with friends and meet the new members.
Mother-Daughter Brunch: Mothers, Sisters, Grandmothers and Aunts are invited to get together to meet the sisters of Lambda Chi. They get the opportunity to see what the sorority is about.
Social Events: Throughout the year the sisters plan several social events. These include weekend social events with other sororities and fraternities, trips to Six Flags, apple and pumpkin picking, a sorority sleep over, and ski trip.
Philanthropy: Community service is a way for the sisters to give back and be with each other. Each sister is required to attend a minimum of two events a year; however, they are strongly encouraged to attend every event. There are some events that the sisters take part every year along some new events introduced.
Meetings: The first Sunday of each month a meeting is held. The Executive Board starts the meeting with any board reports. The sorority is updated on any current events within the sorority and the university. The monthly dues are collected at the meeting. Any personal issues that are discussed are kept private. Any decisions that concern the sorority as a whole are voted upon at the meeting.

What We Live By
Love and Commitment: Lambda Chi stands for Love and Commitment. From the initial decision to become a member of lambda chi, a commitment and a strong bond of love is made instantaneously. Each sister is thereafter devoted to the sorority and its members. They come together and will do anything to protect and be there for each other. The sisters pledge them self to do whatever it takes to be one with each other and uphold everything that Lambda Chi stands for, and thus embody a Lambda Lady.
Crest: Lambda Chi’s crest is the shield. The Greek letters and colors are on it. It symbolizes the high and low points with Lambda Chi in between.
Pin: In 2009 Lambda Chi created their first pin. It is given out to every active member. In the future the pin will be used as a “New Member Pin” or a “Pledge Pin”. Each new member will receive this pin at the start of their new member education process.
Colors: Lambda Chi’s colors are burgundy, white and grey. Burgundy represents the strong bonds between the sisters. White represents the good times shared between the sisters. Grey represents the sad times between the sisters.
Mascot: Lambda Chi's mascot is the butterfly. Many young girls seem to be similar in many ways, like a caterpillar. As young girls grow into young woman they start to become unique, like a butterfly. When a woman joins Lambda Chi, she brings forth her unique personality and skill. Every sister works together as a whole to improve their lives. It is said that when a butterfly flaps its wings, the effects can be felt on the other side of the world. Lambda Chi strives not only to make changes close to them, but to branch out to others as well.
