All members of the St. John’s University community are eligible
to borrow circulating materials. A valid St. John’s
University ID card serves as a library card. You must present
your ID with the books you wish to borrow. This policy
ensures that no one else can borrow library materials under your
name.
Books may be borrowed for a period of 28 days for
students. They may be renewed for an additional loan period
provided that they are not overdue and that there is no recall put
on them by another borrower.
An overdue fine is charged for each item returned past its due
date according to a set schedule to a maximum of $5.00 for each
item overdue 25 or more days. The replacement fee for a lost
book is $50.00. Student transcripts and/or diplomas may also
be held and course registration blocked until books are returned
and/or fines are paid.
