your existing score is older than 5 years.

What is the average GPA of accepted
students?
The current average GPA of our accepted students is 3.2 on a 4.0
scale.
The Admission Committee, however, will not make a decision
exclusively on the GPA, and will take all aspects of the
application into consideration. When evaluating the GPA, the
Admission Committee will also assess the program of study
completed. We are also very sensitive to the different
grading standards maintained worldwide.
What information should I include on my
résumé / C.V.?
Please provide a detailed business résumé / C.V. in reverse
chronological order. At minimum, be sure to include titles, dates
of employment and whether the position was held on a full-time or
part-time basis. Also include a summary of your educational history
and any activities, awards and noteworthy achievements.
Will I be at a disadvantage if I do not have
an undergraduate degree in business?
The Tobin College wants to admit a class that represents various
backgrounds and experiences, as we believe that such diversity
helps to enhance the learning experience of all of our
students. We therefore encourage applications from students
of all undergraduate majors.
Approximately 37% of our accepted students do not have a formal
academic background in business. In order to be sufficiently
prepared for their advanced level business courses, these students
may be required to complete several Core courses, in order to
develop a solid knowledge base in the functional areas of business
to which they may not have been previously exposed.
I do not have any full-time work
experience. Am I eligible to apply to the program?
On average, our accepted full-time students hold 2 years of
full-time work experience and our accepted part-time students hold
4 years of full-time work experience.
Although work experience is not a requirement for those wanting to
apply to our program, it does help to enhance the
application. We expect applicants that do not have full-time
work experience to at least have some part-time work or summer
internship experience. Significant volunteer work is also
considered favorably.
Are interviews required?
Evaluative interviews are extended by invitation only at the
discretion of the Admission Committee. If an interview is
deemed necessary applicants will be contacted by the Graduate
Admission Office to schedule a convenient time to meet.
Students are welcome to make an appointment for an informational
interview with a member of the admission staff in order to learn
more about our programs and/or address any questions they may
have.
I am still an undergraduate student in my
last year of study. Am I eligible to apply?
If you are an undergraduate student in your last year of study, you
may apply to a TCB graduate program. You must provide a
transcript of all coursework to date, and all applications are
considered on a case-by-case basis. If you are accepted, you
must receive your undergraduate degree prior to enrolling at the
Tobin College. Your offer of acceptance will be contingent
upon receipt of your final transcript indicating that you have
completed all of your undergraduate degree requirements and that
your degree has been formally conferred by your undergraduate
institution.
What is the M.B.A. tuition rate?
For the 2007-2008 academic year, the tuition rate is $835 per
credit hour.
How many credits will I need to complete the
MBA?
The MBA program ranges from 36-54 credit hours for
completion. The Tobin College uses a waiver policy and will
allow students to waive out of up to 30 credits of Core Level
courses at the start of their program of study. As a result,
the number of credits required will vary according to each
individual.
How long will it take for me to complete the
MBA?
All students are given a maximum of 5 years in which to complete
the program. The majority of our full-time students complete
the degree in 18 months, and our part-time students in 30
months.
How do I apply for a scholarship /
assistantship?
First, an applicant must fill out the Scholarship / Graduate
Assistantship Application included in the St. John's application.
Candidates for scholarships / assistantships must be applicants for
full-time graduate study at St. John's. The student may not work a
full-time job while serving as a Graduate Assistant.
