Having the opportunity to participate in both formal and
informal recreational activities is an important part of everyday
life. The Intramural program at St. John’s University provides
formal recreational sports opportunities to all students, faculty,
staff and administrators by offering an opportunity for interesting
and rewarding competition in men’s, women’s and co-rec activities.
The program offers a variety of activities that the entire
university community can participate in regardless of preference or
athletic ability.
Campus Recreation arranges schedules and playing space, provides
equipment and furnishes officials. An intramural program cannot be
conducted on a successful level without the services of student
officials. Officials will be provided for the team sports,
when necessary, by the Campus Recreation Department. For
competition in individual sports, the contestants are responsible
for officiating their own matches.
