Leading Up, Down, and Across ~ How to Become a 360º Leader This workshop emphasizes the necessity of solid leadership in all positions responsible for implementing an organization's vision and mission. This training experience empowers leaders to exercise their influence upward to superiors, cross to fellow leaders, and down to members they lead. Presentation Skills Create your own personal “Workshop Plan” for a future presentation. Review the basics in preparing for a winning presentation and understand the true meaning behind “Lack of preparation on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on my part!” First impressions are crucial…as is making a lasting impact on your audience. Learn the tricks to creating the right atmosphere for a successful presentation and the secrets behind maintaining your audience’s interest and attention.Leader Network Night (spring semester) Whether you’re planning to be a mentor within the L.E.A.D. Program or preparing for life beyond St. John’s, this program will give you the opportunity to interact with other student leaders on campus. It will also coach you on how to guide, support, challenge, and motivate future leaders to take on the roles that makes St. John’s student leadership strong! Self-Reflection Project (spring semester) A way to highlight what you have learned about leadership and yourself through this Program.Choose 1 of the following: • 2-3 Page Reflection Paper • 8-10 minute YouTube Video* • PowerPoint Presentation**Please include detailed responses to the following in your Self-Reflection Project: • Provide a brief definition of what the term “leadership” means to you. • What is your leadership philosophy (understanding of leadership) and how did this Program Certificate and its workshops contribute to your philosophy and personal leadership style? • How can you use the information learned to be a more effective leader? In what areas do you need to continue to grow? • What did you learn about your personal strengths and values and how they relate to leadership? • Describe how you specifically apply what you have learned from this Program in the future?* YouTube video presentation may include music and graphics; however actual content must comprise at least 6 minutes of voice-over, graphs, etc… ** PowerPoint Presentation requires a minimum of 8 slides.
