Mission
The mission of Alpha Mentoring is to provide a supportive
environment that encourages academic excellence, leadership
development, graduate education, career advisement, community
service, and cultural awareness through field experience.
Ways to Get Involved in Alpha
Mentoring
Sponsored by the Department of Student Life, Alpha Mentoring
Program is a year-long academic mentoring program that uses team
mentoring and peer leadership to help the first-year students
enhance academic excellence, manage the isolation, confusion and
frustrations often encountered during their first year in college.
Through Alpha Mentoring Program, the first-year students have the
opportunity to receive peer mentoring from experienced St. John's
sophomores, juniors, or seniors; and to participate in a host of
academic and co- and extra-curricular activities.
