Mission of Leadership Development
The mission of Leadership Development is to supplement our St.
John’s University mission by educating and providing programs and
service opportunities that assist and enhance students in their
personal growth, decision-making, civic responsibility, and
leadership advancement and training. Developing leadership skills
and giving back to the community is an important part of the
overall college experience and can lead individuals to personal
enrichment and academic success. We also provide students with a
wide range of opportunities to participate in community service
events locally, nationally, and
internationally.
The area of Leadership Development provides leadership training in
the Vincentian tradition through leadership workshops, various
certificate programs, Leadership Speakers, annual Student
Leadership Conference and Women In Leadership Conference, and
customized workshops for student organizations. Highly
skilled University Administrators and Faculty members facilitate
these workshops and serve as a networking resource for our
students.
