Transfer Student Orientation

What is orientation and why is it so important?

Orientation is a time when the University community comes together to embrace and welcome our new students. Orientation is a mandatory program for all new students, whether they are freshmen, transfer, international and resident or commuter students. Orientation at St. John's University is important because it allows you to become more comfortable with the campus, including classroom buildings, student services and parking. By attending Orientation, you have your first opportunity to beat the lines and establish relationships with the academic deans, registrar and the financial aid office. Most importantly, you have a chance to meet fellow incoming students and current student leaders allowing you to create crucial friendships that last a lifetime.

Your Orientation session

You must select/confirm your orientation session based on the college in which you are enrolled. Log on to the  University Information System (UIS) to confirm your attendance. You will need your user ID and PIN number to access this information.

If you are a resident student living beyond a five-hour commute by car, you will be allowed to move in the day before your orientation session.
