The Community Academic Residential Experiences program
(C.A.R.E.) bridges the academic and residential experiences by
enrolling students in two core classes to facilitate regular
interactions and involvement opportunities with faculty,
administrators, advisors and other students in their community.
These communities are proven to enhance the academic experience
for students by helping them establish academic and social support
networks at the University, aiding in the successful transition to
college from high school. Through C.A.R.E., students develop
communities of shared purpose, find themselves engaging with
faculty, while attending programs planned for their community and
experience service learning. Residence students in this
type of planned program experience higher level of satisfaction
with the residence hall experience.
