Facility Hours

Facilities include the Fitness Center, Game Room, Taffner Field House Lounge & Basketball Courts, the Tennis Courts and Locker Rooms!

Taffner Field House
The Field House includes two multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton. It also includes locker rooms, a lounge and the Campus Recreation Office. A valid St. John’s ID card is required for entry. All participants must be in proper athletic attire (sneakers, shorts, t-shirts, no jeans or boots).

Fitness Center
Located on the East side of Carnesecca Arena. You may enter the Fitness Center from the lower level of Carnesecca Arena. A valid St. John’s ID card is required. 

Locker Rooms
The women’s locker room is located on the upper level and the men’s locker room is located on the lower level of Carnesecca Arena. There are also men and women’s locker rooms located in Taffner Field House on court level. The lockers are used on a daily basis. You must bring your own lock or purchase one from the Campus Recreation Office. Items left overnight will be removed because lockers are for daily use only.

Outdoor Tennis Courts
Located on the Union Turnpike side of campus, adjacent to Taffner Field House. Proper athletic attire is required. Courts are used by men's and women's varsity tennis teams before 3pm each day. During this time we are unable to rent equipment and do not have access to the courts even if there is no one playing.

Game Room
Located on the lower level, west side of Carnesecca Arena. The game room offers Table Tennis, Foosball, XBox360 , Nintendo Wii and PS3.

The hours of operation for the game room are:

*Special hours in effect during athletic events, special events, school holidays and summer school.
