Our Vision: We are the International Collegiate Professional
Fraternity for students pursuing careers in Risk Management,
Insurance and Actuarial Science; and are a leader in the
development and advancement of professional ideals Our Purpose: The
purpose of this fraternity is to promote, encourage, and sustain
student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial
science as professions; to encourage the high moral and scholastic
attainments of its members; and to facilitate interaction of
educational institutions and industry through networking and by
fostering research activities, scholarship, and improved public
relations. Our Core Values: The Gamma Iota Sigma fellowship strives
to bind its members together with a tie of true and lasting
FRIENDSHIP, a desire for KNOWLEDGE, a dedication to INTEGRITY, and
faithful FIDELITY.
Organization's Mission
Gamma Iota Sigma is recognized by Student Government, Inc. Queens
Campus, however they operate as a risk management organization on
the Manhattan campus. Gamma Iota Sigma is a national scholastic
society with the goals of advancement and education regarding the
careers and opportunities in risk management, actuarial sciences,
and insurance.
