The African and Latino Fraternal/Sororal Alliance (ALFSA) is composed of Black and Latino Greek letter organizations. This is a local organization established at St. John's University (Queens) and incorporates the ideals similar to those of the National Interfraternity Council, and National Panhellenic Council. They work to promote service, scholarship, leadership and unity for the community as well as Greek Life.
At John’s University, ALFSA is the governing body of 14 Black and Latino(a) fraternities and sororities. Its executive board consists of members who were chosen to guide and support the organizations through academic programming, leadership training, cultural awareness, and philanthropic endeavors. Each organization is required to have a delegate present at ALFSA meetings held every other week. ALFSA works with the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and the Panhellenic Council on All-Greek philanthropies and educational workshops to bring the Greeks together and work as a community.
