The DAC is Community
The D'Angelo Center is known to house most of the students on campus not only in the high-tech classrooms but also in between classes taking coffee breaks, at night in the seminar rooms studying or in the campus living room enjoying the company of classmates, alumni and administrators. The DAC holds St. John’s 180 student clubs and organizations, a full-service cafeteria and a Starbucks Café. The sunlit lounge features plush seating, floor-to-ceiling windows and a fireplace. The D’Angelo Center is not only the largest building on campus, it has also become the place to be seen in the St. John’s community!

The DAC is Global
The D'Angelo Center is mission, engagement and global. The Peace Wall displays the word peace written in the 124 languages spoken by St. John's diverse student body. “This magnificent structure reflects both the remarkable generosity of outstanding alumni like the D’Angelo family, and St. John’s own unwavering commitment to providing our students with the finest tools available to prepare them for success in today’s global marketplace,” added Rev. Maher, C.M.

The DAC is St. John's
Through the masterful work of industry leaders Gensler Architecture and FJ Sciame Construction Company Inc., this state-of-the-art facility has become a reality. Since its grand opening in 2009, the four-story, 127,000-square-foot D’Angelo Center has become the most popular hub of student life on the Queens campus. The entire building is modeled after the Great Hall at Ellis Island, reflecting the University’s founding as a metropolitan institution in service to the children of immigrants of New York City. The iconic flame, which connects metaphorically to both the eternal light of knowledge and Christian theology, honors the University as a beacon of higher learning and its historically Catholic roots.
