Organization’s Mission
The purpose of this organization is to provide the St. John’s
community with intellectual enrichment and interest in the many
facets of the field of anthropology. The scope of The Anthropology
Club will encompass all subdivisions of anthropology including,
socio-cultural, linguistic, biology and archaeology. The goal of
The Anthropology Club is to promote a stimulating intellectual
dialogue and social interaction with the anthropological community
at this University and the community as a whole. In taking an
active role on campus, the club will host lectures, film
screenings, fieldtrips, and take advantage of the metropolitan,
cultural and intellectual diversity of the University and the City
of New York. The Anthropology Club wishes to also address the
important impact issues within the field of anthropology have on
all of society.
Brief Description of the
Organization
The purpose of the Anthropology Club is to foster an interest in
the various aspects of the field of Anthropology among the St.
John’s Community. It is our goal to provide and enriching
intellectual experience that engages the SJU community in the
recent and relevant research and studies in the field of
anthropology.
Membership Requirements
All St. John’s University students who express an interest in the
field of anthropology are eligible for membership, regardless of
academic affiliation outside the Department of Sociology and
Anthropology. Guests, faculty, and any non-students are welcome and
are eligible for associate membership within The Anthropology
Club.
