The University welcomed a crowd of students and faculty eager to
understand the collaborative aspects of professional printmaking,
and who were also eager to gain insight from a master at the
forefront of her field. At the lecture, Lingen described in detail
the techniques that she incorporates for each of the prints on
display and in her work in general.
Various artist’s books that Lingen has worked on since the late
1970’s are also on display, as well as pieces that she calls
Ephemera, which include several other works that she was
commissioned to create.
Lingen has also lectured at Cooper Union School of Art and
Architecture, Cornell University, Pratt Institute, New York
University, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Lingen’s work is
currently in the collections of 10 museums including the
Metropolitan, Getty and Brooklyn Museums of Art. Her work is also
in the collections of over 20 libraries including the New York
Public Library and the Houghton Library, Harvard University.
