St. John's University Employees and Their Families Walk for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children
June 17, 2008
On Sunday, May 18, a team of St. John’s employees participated
in a three-mile walk at Belmont Racetrack to benefit St. Mary’s
Hospital for Children, an annual effort sponsored by the friends
and supporters of the Bayside, N.Y. Hospital.
Friends and family of the University Library’s Arlene Coscia
walked for her four-year-old daughter Kaitlyn, who is a patient at
St. Mary’s. They were joined by other St. John’s employees,
including Mary Cascio from Human Resources, Nicole Bertram-Secor of
Marketing and Communications and Kevin Ryan, Community Relations
Associate.
“It’s nice to see fellow employees here helping to raise money
for this hospital and support a member of the St. John's family,”
said Ryan, who helped organize the St John’s team. “It’s yet
another example of our employees making time for our Mission. St.
Mary’s provides a crucial benefit to our community.”
St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children is the country’s
preeminent provider of intensive rehabilitative and specialized
