roots.

The winner of the 2011 PGA Championship took time out of his busy
schedule to visit with alumni and friends after a practice Pro-Am
round at the Bethpage Black Course, in anticipation of this past
weekend’s BARCLAYS tournament.
“I really enjoyed my time at St. John’s,” Bradley said. “Any
time I can meet with fellow alumni, it’s always a great
experience.”
Bradley generously posed for photos and signed autographs
for all the guests, sharing stories about the PGA Tour and about
his time playing for the Red Storm. In addition to claiming last
year’s Wanamaker Trophy, Bradley also won the 2011 HP Byron Nelson
Championship and the 2012 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, earning
2011 Rookie of the Year honors and qualifying for the upcoming
Ryder Cup.
“I haven’t been surprised by my success,” Bradley said, “because
I’ve worked very hard, and this is what I’ve always wanted to do.
But it’s been surprising how fast it all happened, the quickness of
it all.”
Frank Darby ’79CBA, Head Coach of the St. John’s Men’s Golf team,
was in attendance and enjoyed mingling with Bradley and other
alumni.
“Keegan really loves St. John’s,” Darby said. “He enjoyed his
experience at the University, and you can tell by the way he
promotes us all the time that he’s 100% in our corner.”
In addition to meeting Bradley, guests were able to watch the
practice rounds of golf’s biggest stars, including Tiger Woods,
Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson.
