Days after being
inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame,
Chris Mullin ’98CBA, the most prolific scorer in St. John’s men’s
basketball history, came to the Queens campus as a guest speaker at
Head Coach Steve Lavin’s Basketball Camp for kids.

“You
have to put in a lot of hard work and practice if you want to be
great at this game,” Mullin said, speaking before a packed audience
of children on the floor of Carnesecca Arena. “You need to believe
in yourself and develop confidence if you truly want to
succeed.”
Mullin reminisced about the long days and nights he had spent
practicing in that very arena, and described his recent
Hall-of-Fame induction as his “crowning achievement.” He then took
questions from the audience.
Mullin was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of
Fame on Friday, August 12, in recognition of his outstanding
collegiate and professional career. In addition to leading the
Johnnies to the 1985 Final Four, Mullin also won two gold medals
playing for the USA in the Olympics and was a five-time NBA All
Star.
