May 21, 2007
On May 12 and 13, St. John’s University held its 137th
Commencement Exercises on the Staten Island and Queens campuses,
respectively. Representatives of the Office of Alumni
Relations were present at both events to welcome new graduates into
the ranks of more than 150,000 proud alumni.
Immediately following the ceremonies, hundreds of new alumni and
their families were treated to light refreshments and given the
opportunity to take photos under the St. John’s University banner
in Hospitality Tents. Graduates also received free “Class of
2007” t-shirts in honor of their
accomplishments.
"Graduates were enthusiastic about becoming new alumni and
approached the Alumni Hospitality tents proudly and with
gratitude," remarked Andrea Papa, associate director, Alumni
Relations. Each year through various events and programs, the
Alumni Relations team reaches out to the newest members of the
alumni body to encourage a continued relationship with St. John’s
after graduation.
