Graduate Admissions Assistance Program (GAAP) Welcomes Senator Larry Pressler
April 16, 2007
Queens, N.Y. -
Senator Larry Pressler made a special presentation to St. John’s
University students on April 11 regarding prestigious scholarships
and fellowships. Senator Pressler focused his attention on
Fulbright studentships, and Rhodes and Marshall scholarships. The
event, held in Donovan Hall Community Room, attracted some 30
students. Steven Lee, graduating senior who will be attending law
school in the fall and who received the University’s nomination for
the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Award, said, “The GAAP office is a
hidden treasure within the basement of St. John Hall. St. John’s
students should take greater advantage of the GAAP office which is
there to help students to find funding for graduate school.“ He
continued, “Dr. Tuchscherer and the GAAP office have been most
helpful in my efforts to successfully attend law school.” Students
applying for such awards generally need to carry at least a 3.5
grade point average.
