Parkway or Gate 6, which is located on 170th Street and Goethals

designated as General Parking.
What happens during Spring Orientation and why is it so
important?
Orientation is a time when the University community comes
together to embrace and welcome our new students and their
families. Orientation is a REQUIRED program for all new students,
whether they are freshmen, transfer, international and resident or
commuter students. It is important because it allows you to become
more comfortable with the campus, including classroom buildings,
student services and parking. By attending Orientation, you have
your first opportunity to beat the lines and establish
relationships with the academic deans, faculty and administration.
Most importantly, you have a chance to meet fellow incoming
students and current student leaders allowing you to create crucial
friendships that last a lifetime. Students benefit from information
on various unique aspects of the University from different
departments such as the Offices of Campus Ministry, Student
Conduct, Public Safety and Faculty. Students are also able to
receive their StormCards, Laptops and amazing Orientation
Giveaways.
What do I bring to Spring Orientation?
Please bring your Student ID number (X number), an umbrella and
wear warm casual clothing and comfortable shoes. Continental
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.
