Orientation is a time when the University community comes
together to embrace and welcome our new students. Orientation is a
REQUIRED program for all new students, including freshmen,
transfer, international, resident and commuter students. It is
important because it allows you to become better acquainted with
the different aspects of the campus, such as classroom buildings,
student services, parking, etc. By attending Orientation, you will
have your first opportunity to establish relationships with the
academic deans, faculty and several University
departments. Most importantly, you have a chance to meet
fellow incoming students and current student leaders, who you will
build friendships with that can last a lifetime.
As an International student at St. John's University, you will
find the orientation program very useful in preparing you for life
in your new environment. Your orientation includes: English as a
Second Language (ESL) testing (if your letter of acceptance
indicated that you must take it), special international student
programs with the Director of International Student and Scholar
Services and an orientation program with American students.

guarantees your space. Here is how to confirm your attendance:
Confirmation Option One
If you have Internet access, you may confirm your orientation
online. Simply log on to our University Information Service.
The next page will ask you to enter your “User ID” and “pin”
number. Your “User ID” is your personal X number (i.e., X12345678)
as assigned in your acceptance letter, or your Social Security
number without the dashes (i.e., 123456789 for 123-45-6789). Your
PIN number is your birth date in month/date/year format (for August
30, 1985, enter 083085). After entering your “User ID” and your pin
number, click “Login.”
At the next screen, choose the “Student Services and Financial
Aid” menu. Next, choose the “New Student Orientation” menu. If you
have been pre-assigned, click “Review/Confirm Orientation.” Follow
the instructions on the page.
